Stigmas
At level 2x, you have only two stigma slots available to you, but it doesn't really matter anyways because 2x stigmas generally SUCK. At high 3xs, it gets a bit trickier with more and more good stigmas becoming available.

Vitality Absorption: The amount you absorb is simply not worth it in PvP. When you've got 3k+ HP, 300 is a meager amount. Especially paired with a long cast time, Vitality Absorption is obsolete.

Enmity Swamp: Lolterrible. Absolutely useless in PvP, and you shouldn't even have this for PvE purpouses. Why does this skill even exist?

Body Root: While it could be decent, it's definitely not worth the stigma slot at this level. There are better skills you could take in its place. NOTE: It recently realized that, OMG, Body Root blocks rangers' skills. With this new outlook, I want to test it as it may be the key to beating them, but I have not had the opportunity yet.

Sigil of Silence: The first truly great stigma you will get -- and a stigma you will never take off. SoS is indispensable against clerics, chanters, sorcerers, and other SMs. Its cast time is just short enough to save you from a head-on fight with a sorc, and it lasts long enough that you can get a Fear off on the target before SoS breaks.

Ignite Aether: Definitely worth the stigma slot at level 25, but it doesn't really shine amongst high-3x stigmas like Weaken Spirit and Fear Shriek. It's especially great against priest classes, but note that it cannot remove chanter mantras or consumable item buffs (food, scrolls, pots, etc). The damage is nice and debuffing = awsum, but Fear Shriek and Weaken Spirit have more utility than this skill later on.

Weaken Spirit: Often underestimated, but a staple of mid-level PvP. Its damage absolutely DECIMATES most classes. Definitely worth the stigma slot, and a major part in your strategy.

Fear Shriek: Like Fear I, but a million times better. Not only does it have a much shorter cast time, it's also AoE, has a longer effect time, and slows the target. Could it get any better?!? Unfortunately, this is the hardest and most expensive stigma to obtain in this level range. Once you've got it, remember that it is not only to be used on multiple targets. Do not be afraid to spam Fear Shriek in 1v1 (unless you have reason to worry that you'll get zerged in the next couple minutes). It's most effective as a chain-fear with Fear I to keep bitches constantly feared. Very, very nice skill.

Here are my recommended stigma builds for the mid-levels. These are what I play with, not what is best for every player. Clicking on the links will open up the stigma calculator with my stigma build put in. That's for all you visual learners, haha.

LEVEL 20 (two slots): Vitality Absorption I, Body Root

LEVEL 25 (two slots): Body Root, Ignite Aether I

LEVEL 28 (two slots): Ignite Aether I, Sigil of Silence

LEVEL 30 (three slots): Ignite Aether II, Sigil of Silence, Body Root

LEVEL 34 (three slots): Ignite Aether II, Sigil of Silence, Weaken Spirit

LEVEL 37 (three slots): Sigil of Silence, Weaken Spirit, Fear Shriek

LEVEL 40 (four slots): Sigil of Silence, Weaken Spirit, Fear Shriek, Ignite Aether III
