On Gear and Stats
Our pets and servants not scaling is nearly a blessing when it comes to finding gear, but it doesn't leave much variety in terms of manastone builds. There is only one manastone that you should be using in PvP: HP. None of this MBoost bullshit, the only skill you'll use on a regular basis that is affected by this is Erosion. Aim for at least 3k HP by level 30, if not 3.5k and above.
Beyond HP though, there are a few additional stats you'll want. Most notably, +flight time. You'll be in the air A LOT, and I mean a lot. Your best advantage in the air is that you, dear Spiritmaster, will be fully equipped and prepared to outfly any dumb nigger who opens his wings. You MUST be better outfitted for flight than the next guy, or you will not survive. Go for +flight time on earrings, necklaces, and rings. I'm not sure how I feel about +flight speed. It'd be very nice, if there were more pieces with it. As it stands, it's hard enough to get even one piece with that mod, much less enough to make a difference. (I think you can get a total of +14% flight speed at this level, with Abyss chest & legs and a headpiece from Kratia.) +speed is ULTIMATELY IMPORTANT. +speed boots will be your most important piece of gear -- yes, right up there with the Daevanion chestpiece. If you have money for only one piece of gear, get speed boots. Suck a fat cock for them if you're poor, drop all your RL money on illegal gold-buying, just get them at ANY COST. These boots are OP. There are two pairs available to you at 3x: The gold Abyss boots for 58k AP (level 30), or Expert's Silk Cloth Shoes for ~2m (level 33). The Abyss boots are better but also considerably more difficult to get. Also be sure to get the +speed title, Saviour of Eiron Forest (which, conveniently, also adds HP). Magical Accuracy is also vital. Go for spellbooks -- orbs provide higher damage, sure, but remember that only Erosion is affected by MBoost & MAtk. Every spell can be resisted, so you'll want higher MAcc. You may also want to consider mixing in some MAcc stones with your HP. These only come in green versions, but they are relatively cheap. I would not suggest a full MAcc build, or even as much as 15% MAcc, but a few may help you out a bit. Abyss gear is kinda disappointing for Spiritmasters. Regular old greens are simply concentration and MP, both more or less useless stats. Blue pauldrons, gloves, and boots are MBoost. (Totally sorc-favoured, but let's not get into that) The only good blue pieces are chest and legs, which add +flight speed. I'd like to test the effectiveness of these, but haven't gotten the chance as I'm rather short on AP. Gold boots are AMAZING as previously stated. The rest of gold adds MAttack, oh yay. As for accessories, you have two options: +flight time, MBoost, MP, and MAcc; or +flight time, PCrit, HP, and Acc. Either way, we can only use two of the bonuses. I'd say go for the melee accessories with the HP, but it's a toss-up.
