I believe I found Taelden's superhero alter ego: Black Canary

Re: CGI vs in game graphics

Vanille would be the best if only she would never speak. Ever. EVER.

I've been asking for a redheaded character for ages! Why did they make her so retarded? :(

Re: CGI vs in game graphics

Some guys like that kind of character. Not I, personally, but others may.

Lightning is just about the best/coolest character ever. In anything. Ever.

Re: CGI vs in game graphics

I had heard her described as a "female cloud strife" in development. I'm happy to see she has a broader emotional range. Even if that is currently mostly "Very angry".

I like her a lot.

I really need to get ahold of the soundtrack to that game. I really love that composer, I am a big fan of his other works.

Re: CGI vs in game graphics

What characters/roles are you focusing on once you get to the open-game aspect? So far I've been using Lightning/Snow/Vanille.

Commando/Sentinel/Saboteur main focuses, with secondaries of Ravager in each and Medic/Commando/Medic for third focus on skillups. Only thing I'm really lacking is good Synergist buffs, but I'm going to specialize Sazh in solely Synergist so I can swap out if need be, I think. Noone else gets Haste until much later in the game so it's pretty important to have him around to swap to IMO.

I prefer raw powering down people while stripping/debuffing them fully so this combo suits me nicely. I start out in Relentless Assault (Com/Rav/Rav) in most grindy type fights and just plow through mobs. Swap up to Com/Sen/Med if I need to heal, or for mobs that take awhile to kill I can pop Med/Com/Sab to make sure I'm fully healed up, then switch to Rav/Rav/Sab to really charge up combo bar to get them into a stagger. Staggered = ridiculous damage from Lightning/Snow by swapping to Com/Com/Rav.

Any other combos people are workin with? I guess Hope is technically better than Vanille for the caster spot, but A: I don't like him as much and B: I prefer more of a debuffer role, and she does it pretty damn well. Can't wait to get death for CP farmingz.

I'm still playing around with it. I haven't found a party yet that I like the best.

On another note: This game already had me sold as the best in the series before I got to the palencia showdown..

And now it just got 3x better. lol?

I've had the shit since Tuesday and still haven't been able to sit down and dive in. I'm reserving several days coming up to get lost in it.

To finally answer your question:

I ended up using Lightning + 2 casters pretty much the whole game, and I found sentinels to be absolutely and completely unnecessary for the entirety of the game, except for the couple instances where you're essentially forced to use one in certain eidolon encounters.

So mid game I used Lightning + sazh + vanille.

End game I used Lightning + hope + vanille with the following Paradigms:

Hero's Charge (Commando + Medic + Synergist)
Scouting Party (Commando + Saboteur + Medic)
Variety (Commando + Medic + Ravager)
Relentless Assault (Commando + Ravager + Ravager)
Tri-Disaster (Ravager + Ravager + Ravager)
Perpetual Magic (Ravager + Medic + Medic)
