I whipped this up over the weekend (I had a weekend off OMG!).
The template is based on the VBSEO theme, which has a number of awesome features (like heading tags for longtail optimization).
I'm not 100% happy with the way the logo came out, or the link color, so I'll probably be tweaking that. I also need to come up with a better thread category heading.
Background image isn't done yet, I plan to add more to it. It's also my first attempt at digital art using PhotoShop in about 6 years.
Thoughts?

I liked to think so. I spent about 6 hours on the background image in it's current state. The rest I pretty much pulled out of my ass.

Finishing some edits to the templates, and I need to drop the Google Ads in and it should be ready. You can view it by selecting Nova 2.0 in the style drop down on the bottom left of the page.

I'm not using widescreen either so can't comment there.
Tabbing between the two, Nova 2.0 is much more pleasing on the eye. Tried a gradient in the blue title bars? The light blue is still bugging me a bit.

No not yet. I thought about it though. I think what I might do to tone the blue down is just make it a PNG and add some transparency.
I'm still not happy with the link color though to be honest.
I changed the link color to be the same as the link color in Nova_Black.

Template changes are done. Let me know if anything is broken.
Other then the Logo and Category Headers needing to be adjusted, I think everything looks pretty good. The page also loads about 2 seconds faster for me on my T3 at work.

I'll probably swap the background image out for the less compressed version. Aside from the few tweaks mentioned above and any fixes that need to be put into place, I'm happy with how it came out and I'm fairly certain that I'm done fucking with the site.

With more emphasis on change.
and the + / - bugs in the top right corner of the stories on the front page don't work, which is good in that they are useless but they still show up.

That's a simple template edit to remove them. I'll see what I can do (probably won't have time today).
Edit: It's an issue with the vBaDynamics module. I removed it.
